Gemma shares her NHS memories

Gemma talks about her career in the NHS.

 

When do you start?

In 2003.

 

Why did you choose to work in the NHS?

I had always worked in healthcare since college and an opportunity came up to work within Taunton maternity unit.

 

What do you do?

After various different roles over the years, the last 5 being in finance i finally feel I have found my home. I feel the knowledge I have gained in the wider NHS helps me in my current role. I love working and helping people.

 

What would you tell someone now who was thinking about a career in the NHS?

Do it. Its a great place to work and if you can get with the right team for you it won't feel like going to work at all.
